Hi Everyone,
If you're looking for something fun and programming-oriented this
week, consider joining us for a presentation on Artificial Humor by
Julia Taylor, a doctoral student at UC. She'll show off her Humor Bot,
a program that can recognize and generate jokes based on the
phonological similarity of words. This is part of her work into
Sociable Computing, a concept that will undoubtedly receive much more
attention once the Humor Bot has broken the screenwriters' strike, I'm
betting it'll start with the show "King of the Hill".
So join us Wednesday night and get some real chuckles from synthetic
jokes!
