Hi Todd,

At DPS, we're actually in the middle of doing an ITIL-based implementation like you mention. We've looked at BMC Magic (Remedy's little brother). We have extensive ties with Vertical Solutions's PowerHelp CRM system, who is in town here. We just had a massive meeting yesterday with them for exactly this purpose, dealing with CMDBs in PowerHelp.

If you want, I can get you in contact with the manager of our Service Desk group, who sits about 20 feet away from me. He's going through all the ITIL stuff right now.

This might be out of scope for this list but please direct me to another group if you are aware of one that could help.

I am currently looking for some examples of a CMDB (Configuration Management Database). I am only slightly versed in ITIL and have some limited (and painful) experience with Remedy. I need to find enough information to figure a potential/sample/standard schema for a database that could fill this role.

Hey, the application that accesses it will be written in Java and run on a JEE application server!

;-)

Thanks,

- Todd
