The IE popup you are referring to cannot be manipulated from the server.

There's some information on the popup you refer to here: http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=348

As Robert suggested the most reliable way to deal with this is to display a checkbox. If the checkbox is checked, then set a  "remember me" cookie.

Thanks,
Niall

Could popups be blocked in some way?

I know some sites provide a checkbox for the option so that they avoid using popups altogether.

Change happens. Plan for it!

Subject: [cinjug-users] not asking for user name and password save option

Hi

Recently we deployed our new portal site. When the user enters his name (&password) the login page (on IE 6.0.2) is not opening a popup box asking if I want windows to remember my user name/password option. Our users want this feature to be enabled on our browser.

The autoComplete feature is set properly on IE. But still we are not getting this popup message. I know this is an issue with browser but not with portal.

Any suggestions are highly appreciated. Is there any portal settings to be configured????.

Pardha
