If you are looking for a more generic solution,
MIDlet.platformRequest(URL);
will launch the phone`s browser, but I wish you good luck :-).

I am writing a Java application in J2ME and wondering if it's possible
to open the phone's web browser from inside a Java MIDlet. Failing
that, is it possible to check for updates to the program when it's
opened in a Java Web Start kind of way.
To tell you the truth, I'm the only person I know that programs in
J2ME, so if any of you just want to chime in saying "I do J2ME!" feel
free to do chime that as well.
