Enterprise SOA in Ruby --------------------------- This talk focuses on how you integrate a Rails application on top of a Java and .NET stack through an SOA architecture. I go against a lot of the main stream literature out there when talking about SOA. I won't talk about what ESB to use, or how to use web services, but draw on examples from real-life SOA implementations that I've helped create. This talk will show you how you can build a Rails web application on top of Java and .NET apps without having to rewrite them. In reality, these ideas can be used for many languages out there.

Presenter: Joe O'Brien
---------------------------
a co-founder of EdgeCase, LLC, (theedgecase.com) a software
development company based in central Ohio specializing in Ruby and
Rails training and application development. Previously he was a
developer with ThoughtWorks, spending much of his time working with
large J2EE and .NET systems for Fortune 500 companies. Joe is a
passionate member of the open source community. Recently, he founded
the Columbus Ruby Brigade (columbusrb.com) and helped organize the
Chicago Area Ruby Users Group (chirb.org). He is currently working on
two book projects for the Pragmatic Programmers; Building DSL's with
Ruby and Integrating Rails with Java and .NET through SOA.
