If I apply package filters to the search at the unzip step then the number of classes loaded can be managed. I expect the filtering would include all the classes that are already going to be run in my application anyway so it shouldn't cost us anything.
As for the reason. Still theoretical. I guess I am looking for cool reasons to use annotations. Not the best design stratagy I agree but we have to learn what this stuff can do for us somehow.
