Remco, I suggest two books: O'Reily's "Learning Java" and Murach's "Java Servlets and JSP. The 1st is a great into to the Java language. The 2nd provides more info on developing J2EE applications, but maybe more importantly for a Java beginner, it provides a lot of help on how to configure and use the open source technologies you can use to create a development environment, such as Tomcat, MySql, etc. These two books will take you a long way.
Can't help with the tutoring, but Sun does have some Java tutorial on their web site ... that is how I started. -----Original Message----- From: Remco deJong [mailto:rd@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, October 05, 2005 3:02 PM To: users@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: [cinjug-users] Tutor Java Hello Cinjug, I was once a programmer in VB6 and now would like to try Java. After some starts and fits I'd like for someone to show me the way, to start me on the path towards Java. Is there someone out there that would tutor me Java? I don't expect it to be free and would negotiate a reasonable pay rate... rsvp Remco deJong The computer allows you to make mistakes faster than any other invention, with the possible exception of handguns and tequila. --------- You may unsubscribe from this mailing list by sending a blank email addressed to: users-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxx -- Find additional help by sending a blank email addressed to: users-help@xxxxxxxxxx --------- You may unsubscribe from this mailing list by sending a blank email addressed to: users-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxx -- Find additional help by sending a blank email addressed to: users-help@xxxxxxxxxx |
