Bill, I got a lot of good feedback about MyEclipse and you definitely gave a good recommendation. I can hack it by editing a html file first, then change the file suffix to ".jsp" and add jsp stuff in jsp editor. For curiousity, it looks like you don't do the WYSIWYG editing, but you do add jsp stuff. Then where do you get the files with WYSIWYG from? You don't do the thing scratch from source view, right? For my case, I got a html file from a requirement team and then rename it to a jsp file and manually add jsp thing into it. So for my case, the jsp editor is Ok. But I would like to know how others do that. Thanks! Lei
Lei, It looks like there is only a WYSIWYG designer for html files. This feature is only available on windows right now. Maybe there are plans to move that over to jsp files as well. I guess I never noticed that you can't do that. I spend all of my time in the source view. I usually will just move the file to a server to see what it looks like. You can also use the preview feature to view the file. Sorry, it seems the product I suggested falls a little short when it comes to page design. Finally I decided on MyEclipse. Now when I am trying to edit a JSP file, I notice I don't have "Design Mode" as editing in html file. You do need to do WYSIWYG edit for JSP file sometimes, then why there is no "Design Mode" for jsp editor. Maybe I miss something? Thanks a lot! :Lei "James Carman" <james@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bill.manuel@xxxxxxxxxx>, Lei Han/CIMG/CVG@CVG 05/04/2005 11:07 AM cc: <users@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: RE: [cinjug-users] Any good free elipse JSP-Editor plug-in? I would second that recommendation. The MyEclipse plugin is pretty nice. A must have for any Eclipse/J2EE developer. It's well worth the cost. -----Original Message----- From: bill.manuel@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bill.manuel@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, May 04, 2005 10:55 AM To: lei.han@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: users@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [cinjug-users] Any good free elipse JSP-Editor plug-in? Lei, I'm not using a free editor, but I have one that's real close. I use the MyEclipse plugin, which gives you much more than just a JSP editor. The cost is around $30 per year. It works in most versions of eclipse and they update it all the time. Hope this helps.
