Hey all - I'm working w/someone who has a client side Java app that opens
encrypted PDF files for viewing on a client's PC. The reason for the
application is to prevent unauthorized distribution of the PDFs (it has
some security features built in to ensure users only open PDFs they're
authorized for). The way the app currently works is (I believe) by
running Adobe Acrobat Reader inside the Java process (I assume this
because the Adobe Acrobat Reader splash screen appears when I run the
program in question). This app only works on Windows w/Adobe Acrobat
Reader 6.0 installed. You'll have to excuse my ignorance with regard to
the above description - I'm don't do much client side development:). My question is this - do any of you know of any way (Java or non-Java) to achieve the same result (limiting the distribution of files) but by an easier means? It seems like they've got an awful lot of custom code written for a not so unique requirement. Thanks! Jon -- Jonathan A.
