Hello,

I am asking for expert/experience advice from all of you once again. We have quite a few applications in development and others in support of production. We reached the point where it looks like we can not afford manual testing anymore and automated unit testing (jUnit) only covers a portion of the issue. Unless you can convince me otherwise I am concluding that we need to adopt/acquire functional test and regression test automation tool.

Most of Fortune whatever companies use things like Mercury QuickTest Professional

IBM or similar that I hear are very expensive and perhaps even overkill in many case

My question is if anybody could recommend the tool that would do the trick as well and be not a killer for relatively small budget companies. What is the best bang for a buck?

Anything would help!

P.S. One of our products is Windows executable (Delphi) that uses Web Services and talks to J2EE middle tier. It is a graphical editor in nature and therefore has some functionality on the client side that needs to be constantly tested.
