  Over 90% of J2EE apps are DP apps making money for businesses.
  Maybe they could have been built cheaper, faster, and cleaner
  but they were / built /, so thats ok too.
 
  OO is the best way to build most applications intended for a longer lifespan.
  
  The reason DP is successful is not in building apps.
  But in communicating between departments and programming languages.

  It's easier on the department & technology interfaces, 
  harder to develop with.
 
  Pick your poison.
  
  I'd love to work in an OO culture so that communication
  in OO was the most effective.  
  That's why I'm interested in Ruby these days.

  Compromises with DP are part of the game in delivering Java.
  That's not meant as a value judgement.
