Hi All:

Lately I have been doing some reading related to Event
Based programming and integration of Business Rules
(something akin to JSR 940).
The Event Driven Part is fine, I am wondering how the
business rules component actually work in real time
without an entire re-write of all your applications
and models.
The tools I researched fell in two categories, open
source Java rules engine - Drools (http://drools.org/)

and a commercial offering from FairIsaac -
BlazeAdvisor
(http://www.fairisaac.com/Fairisaac/Solutions/Enterprise+Decision+Management/Business+rules/).

Some other useful sites are
Microsoft Biztalk
http://www.brcommunity.com
http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/commonrule

I would love to hear experiences, thoughts, one way or
the other on Event drive architectures or business
rules.

Thanks,

Saleem
