Since I had never heard of Tapestry, I looked it up...
Tapestry is a powerful, open-source, all-Java framework for creating
leading edge web applications in Java.
Tapestry reconceptualizes web application development in terms of
objects, methods and properties instead of URLs and query parameters.
Tapestry is an alternative to scripting environments such as JavaServer
Pages or Velocity. Tapestry goes far further, providing a complete
framework for creating extremely dynamic applications with minimal
amounts of coding.

Brian Bonner's posting on
"Spring in June" will discuss the problems in J2EE development that the
Spring Framework tries to solve. The presentation will cover (at a high
level) what is included in Spring and specifically discuss: dependency
injection container and data access (via Hibernate) and transaction
management with Spring.
At Paraware (where I work) we've developed several applications using
the Spring Framework and I'll share some of our experiences of using
this framework.

If you only come to one Cinjug meeting this year, come
to this one! We're having not one, but 2 awesome
presentations. Our own Brian Bonner will be
discussing Spring. And for the same low price, Erik
Hatcher (creator of Ant, author, and key contributor
to Tapestry) will be discussing Tapestry. Schedule,
directions, and so forth are on the website at:
http://www.cinjug.org/meetings/index.html. Note the
1/2 hour earlier start time.
