I have personally used the Motorola iDEN phones i95, i85 and i90 and
been very happy.
I have also personally used the Sanyo 4900 and been happy with it as a
phone but not particularly happy with it as a J2ME device.
Unfortunately, the decision of which device to purchase is not entirely
that easy. Depending on what you want to do with it, it can also depend on the service
provider as well. If you want transmit data or install over the air (OTA) you
will need to have a data service plan added. You will want to compare data
service prices between service vendors.

Subject: [cinjug-users] J2Me phone
Hey guys,
Anybody know of a reasonably priced (as in free with
service plan) J2me or Java phone to be had in
Cincinnati. And yes, I know I missed my chance
with
the Sidekick intro thing way back when :(
