I didn't find that one in my original search since they misspelled Address,
but it comes around to the same area - there is no code-based way to this
without either JNI or invoking a System call. At least I don't feel too bad
since there are many other people looking for a solution as well and running
into the same less than enjoyable solution.

Does anyone know how to get the UID from a network card. Because of its 
uniqueness we are using the NetworkID as a singular factor for identifying 
hardware. The previous programmer did a system call and grep'd on the result

- I am hopeful that there is a code-based method of getting this 
information.
