I remember we had pretty bad luck when we moved our directors list over to a
yahoo group. I was pretty soured by that whole fiasco, so I vote for just
keeping it a mailing list, too.

Ezboard
I’ve used Ezboard
accounts for a couple years now. Not much spam, but I prefer e-mail
mailing lists.
Just my 2 cents.

I was looking
over this last night, I feel this would be a good way to distribute this type
of information in the future. I am not sure how others feel about
it but it appears that you have brought a good solution to the
table.
BTW, how much
spam have you received after you signed up for this account?

What would everybody think about
establishing an Ezboard forum? I would be willing to pay $30 to set up
for 6 months. Obviously, I am not an officer of the group ... so I will
look to the officers for comments and direction.
Anyway, I belong to a forum that
discusses news radio station WBT in Charlotte, NC. The Ezboard site on
which this is "served" is a breeze.
There are a lot of features that are
spelled out on the site .. but a few that I think could help the Cincy Java
community
* Rather than getting unorganized
e-mails, you can view and post to a related thread.
* You can also have e-mails
forwarded from the board -- so if you still want to get instant updates ... no
problems.
* The threads could be archived in a
permanent section ... so the same questions could be answered from
"historic" threads
* You can post images (i.e., screen
shot) and everybody could see the same thing without piling up megs in
everyone's e-mail box
* There is NO costs to forum members
* Officers could be
"super" users and delete inappropriate content or whatever
Let me know what you think.
