and Research Foundation seeks a Tech Lead / Sr. Java Developer for its Biomedical
Informatics Division to develop new tools to understand and conquer
disease. You will be a lead member of a
team that is undertaking the large-scale integration and analysis of data from
the realms of the human genome, biomedical research, and clinical
medicine. This position requires a
senior level person with broad experience and talent as well as the ability to
develop and adhere to test plans and to manage junior level programmers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage
the daily activities of up to 5 junior level programmers working on 2-4
projects at one time.
- Request
help and identify problems early
- Implement
processes and procedures developed by project management
- Implement
technologies, designs, deployments, and testing methodologies specified by
an architect
- Develop
J2EE-based systems
- Document
and hand-off J2EE-based systems
- Review
daily changes to code made by junior staff
- Participate
in or lead design discussions and reviews
Requirements:
- Honesty
and Integrity: with yourself, your subordinates, and management
- 1+
year management of junior programmers
- 7+
years development experience
- 5+
years OOAD
- 4+
years UML and the ability to communicate designs effectively
- 4+
years Java
- 1+
years Jakarta Tomcat as J2EE container
- 6+
months ANT
- 6+
months XML
- 6+
months Struts or 6+ months Velocity for web design. Other template engines are also
acceptable.
- 2+
years with relational databases (preferably Oracle)
- Familiarity
with SCCSs and the ability to become a CVS
expert with training
