Pillar is looking for Agile Coach/Mentors with high level
knowledge of agile developer best practices including Test First Development,
continuous integration, end-to-end and travel light, and deep J2EE coding and
system integration experience.
Must have the ability to assess individuals and their environment to determine
what the developers are able to absorb versus what is ideal. Must be able to
specify practice improvements, put concepts into action, and coach to
accelerate acceptance and proficiency of new practices, and improve team
velocity and throughput.
Responsibilities
- Works side-by-side with developers to improve test first development (e.g.
write unit tests based on acceptance criteria and then just enough code to pass
the tests; achieve high code coverage with high quality tests), continuous
integration, travel light, and refactoring skills
- Coaches on object-oriented and J2EE patterns,
- Helps developers to adapt to working within strictly time-boxed iterations
with adaptive, business-driven planning and disciplined iteration and release
cadence (i.e., a rhythm of team interactions where members report to each
other, commit to work and identify barriers)
- Role models and encourages professional behavior and honesty
- Encourage teamwork rather than individual competition
