Software Configuration Management - Analyst
A well-known Cincinnati organization, experiencing record growth and earnings, is seeking an experienced software professional to join the organization's IT department.
This individual will serve as the Configuration Management champion for the organization and will be responsible for CM issues associated with product releases. This analyst will work closely with Development and Quality Assurance to define and implement procedures for releasing products throughout the entire product life cycle.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Apply Configuration Management principles and tools to ensure that
components are built, packaged and deployed using quality control
disciplines to reduce/eliminate errors.
· Produce product builds for use in QA and production, as well as overseeing change management and product configuration management.
- Maintain and coordinate software components and libraries that make up the company's production systems environment.
- Use quality control methodologies to reduce and/or eliminate errors and ensure that deployment packages are built for the open systems production environments.
- Recommend the configuration management processes and tools necessary to support the IS SDLC.
- Develop usage guidelines, documentation and procedures for using CM tools.
- Serve as administrator for all Code libraries.
- Produce build/deployment metrics and error reports.
- Mentor developers on the proper use of CM tools.
- Maintain/document Version control and maintain a log of Code Base changes.
- Administer branching and merging of the code base.
- Track dependencies between components and identify conflicts.
Minimum and Preferred Requirements:
· 4+ years Configuration Management experience.
· 6- 8 Years of experience in software development/engineering.
· Experience with make files, batch files and UNIX shell scripting.
· Experience managing Source Code control tools
- Experience with ANT scripts
- Experience with VSS, Changeman DS, or Changeman Dimensions.
- Knowledge of JAVA build and packaging processes
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Master's degree in software engineering or Business Administration
