Kforce is seeking a Java Developer for a senior level position for a direct hire role with a local client.

Experience

6-8 years design and development of software in a J2EE environment.
Knowledge of and experience with large scale, Internet-based applications, Linux systems and networks; Internet technologies: TCP/IP, HTTP, HTML, _javascript_, XML.
Knowledge of and experience with transactional applications utilizing relational databases and JDBC.
Demonstrated experience with server-based applications that need to run 24x7
Experience with scalability and performance tuning
Must be a self-starter with demonstrable drive for excellence in all aspects of work; able to collaborate well with other key members of the team; maintain own tasks, effectively prioritizing to best meet departmental or organizational goals
Must be a solid communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.

DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Blogging, active knowledge of the blogosphere, social networks
DHTML, AJAX, XSL
Full-text search engines (e.g. Apache Lucene)
