Are you a dedicated employee searching for a company where you aren't just a "number"? Do you want to actually see the impact you are making for your company? If yes, this is the position you are searching for.

My Client (a company located in downtown Columbus, Ohio) is searching for a Java developer to join its development team. The Candidate must be searching for a company to "call home" as this is a permanent opportunity. This Java developer will have 3+ years of experience with recent website development experience. There will be some development of new tools that will plug into the existing website, but much of the work will be to maintain the existing websites; will design, maintain, and develop web-based apps to support the various business units and J2EE PHP application portals; integration of the J2EE application server (JBoss) with Content Management System (OpenCMS); comply standard for various architectures. Experience with Java/J2EE is a must, but experience with WebSphere/WebLogic as opposed to JBoss would be sufficient.

Client just went live in March (’07) with a new website platform.  It only released this platform with a couple of its companies’/subsidiaries' websites. There is an expected "go live" date for the rest of the companies/subsidiaries of Jan/Feb timeframe. Therefore, the initial project will be dealing with this upcoming release.

Other good experience to have is with the Struts Framework, Servlets, JSP Tag Libraries, JMS, MDB, Hibernate, SQL, Ant/Maven, and UML modeling. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and _javascript_ is a plus.

Candidate will preferably have a BA in CS, MIS, or a related field. This position will entail 24/7 on-call support BUT the on-call is usually a few days per month (at most) and it runs in spurts (there will be three days in a row when someone gets called and then that person will not be called for another month). 99% of the issues that the person would be called on can be taken care of by VPNing in remotely from home.

If you are interested in this opportunity please reply with an updated Word version of your resume and/or call me.  Enjoy the weekend…

Thanks,

Jason
