Position Requirement and
Responsibilities
Candidate must be a proven expert in software development. Must
have knowledge in the entire software development cycle, from requirements
analysis to prototyping, to release and delivery, and finally to maintenance
cycles. Be prepared to demonstrate your knowledge and experience.
Candidate must have substantial training and mentoring experience and
should be capable of presenting new ideas and low-level topics to seasoned
software engineers in a way that others will understand and in a way which
motivates candidate's peers.
Guru-level troubleshooting skills are an absolute requirement.
Must be capable of solving nearly any software or network-related problem
within a reasonable time, under pressure from customers and others in the
organization; or be confident enough to declare the problem is not worth
solving and suggest (and implement) a viable alternative.
Position requires excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
and a desire to mentor and develop junior and senior engineers. Candidate
should be a self-starter, requiring little or no direct management, a technical
leader within the software industry, expect and deliver the absolute best
quality software, and must have a strong personal interest in computer
technology. Position may require occasional travel.
Required Technical Qualifications
- 8 or more years of professional
software development including 5 or more years of professional J2EE
development experience
- Proven experience as a lead
software architect using J2EE
- Must have at least three years
experience working on J2EE projects using JSP, EJB, and Servlets with one
or more of the following J2EE application servers: JBOSS, IPlanet,
WebLogic or WebSphere
- Extensive experience with J2EE
design methodologies, design patterns, and actual development of EJBs,
DAOs, JSPs, and Servlets,
- Extensive knowledge of standard
3-tier J2EE architecture
- Capable of doing High-level and
low-level application designs and conducting design reviews.
- General experience with
relational database technology and data access methods within J2EE
architecture.
- Application performance measurement
and tuning, including client/server resource consumption, network
bandwidth usage, and database access
- Application security and
customer information confidentiality knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of SSL,
Certificate authority, Server and Application hardening, port security,
and data encryption
- Application scalability and
failover considerations, including clustering, and network load balancing
- Internationalization frameworks
and localization issues.
- Knowledge of design tools and
languages (UML, Rational, etc.)
- Release management and change
management experience
- Application build, packaging,
and deployment experience
- Network knowledge including
low-level TCP/IP protocol,
firewalls, & NAT
- Leadership experience
- CRM
